The first-ever Women's Premier League (WPL) is set to commence on March 4, with the first match between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The BCCI's official ticketing partner, BookMyShow, has started selling tickets for the 22-match tournament. Women and girls can avail of free entry, while men and boys can purchase tickets for Rs 100 and Rs 400.

The WPL opening ceremony will feature Bollywood actors Kriti Sanon, Kiara Advani, and singer AP Dhillon. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by the match at 7:30 pm. The tournament will be broadcasted live on the Jio Cinema app, and television viewers can watch the matches on the Sports18 Network.

Five teams- Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz will participate in the tournament. The final match of the WPL 2023 will take place at the Brabourne Stadium on March 26. The WPL is a significant step in promoting and encouraging women's cricket in India.
