Hindu Chatra Sangha celebrates Independence Day on a different note this year. The organisation members, after hoisting the National flag displayed posters on Detention Camps, thereby highlighting the contribution of Bengali Hindus in the freedom struggle.

The organisation members also went on ahead to paste the posters across the main points of the Silchar town for public display.

Speaking on behalf of the organisation, Subhasish Choudhury said, "We are happy to celebrate the 75th day of Independence of the nation. However, we must not forget about the Bengali Hindus who are till date serving in the detention camps of Assam, many of whom even died while trying to prove their Indian citizenehip. After so many years of Freedom Struggle, where the Bengali Hindu community has a huge contribution from their side, such alienation of the community by the Independent Indian government is unfortunate. We hope that in the coming years, the country will make sustainable progress and we will all be able to celebrate the Independence Day together, without any of our fellow brothers being left back to serve in the detention camps."

Bikram Das, Ratnadeep Chakrabarty, Aninda Dev, Rajdeep Bhattacharjee, Sourab Deb, Urmik Paul, Ankur Das, Abhishek Das, Pritam Paul, Ariyan Roy, Raj Roy were present among others on behalf of the organisation.
