Silchar, 07/09/23: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Vishwasharma inaugurated three new bridges in Cachar district on Wednesday, September 7. Chief Minister Dr. Sharma reached Silchar on September 7 and first thing in the morning he inaugurated Badripar Bridge.
From Silchar Kumbhirgram Airport, the Chief Minister proceeded straight to Badrighat on the Silchar to Phuletal road, where the bridge construction including approach and protection works for Bridge No. 7/4 over the Barak River under the Chief Minister's Barak Valley Special Package 2013-14 has a length of 295 meters and an approach length of 741 meters.
A total of 4816.92 lakh rupees has been spent for After that, Dr. Sharma again inaugurated Dungripar Bridge. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Vishwasharma inaugurated RCC Bridge No. 1/1 (Bridge Exact Distance 150 Meters) over Sonai River under CMS Special Package 2013-14 for Barak Valley. 1110.39 lakhs has been spent on the construction of this proper bridge.
After this program he went to Bharakhai and laid the foundation stone of the Integrated District Commissioner's office.
After the Chief Minister returned from laying the foundation stone of the convention center at Shilkuri, he again inaugurated a new barrack bridge constructed at a cost of 87 crore rupees at Itkhalaghat and returned to the circuit house.
After that, he did the last program of unveiling the statue of Bir Lachit Barfukan at the district commissioner's office in Silchar.
He then participated in the public meeting of Jal Jeevan Sammelan at Chief Minister Silchar DSA ground. In this public meeting, the Chief Minister announced several projects and said that three more bridges and three flyovers will be constructed in Cachar district.
500 more beds will be increased in Silchar Medical College and a Cancer Hospital will also be constructed in the Medical College. Gurucharan College will be upgraded to University in next one week.
He said under SHG women will be given ten thousand rupees. On this occasion the Chief Minister inaugurated the project of 75 Jaljivan Mission and later the Chief Minister left for Hailakandi.
