The woman is a street food vendor who earns her livelihood by selling momo in the street of Bokajan. According to the local people, the woman and her daughter were running a little late to pack up their belongings and close their shop and in the meanwhile, police personals came to the spot and while arguing one of them threw the hot oil from her wok (frying pan or Kadhai) all over the woman. This violent incident was witnessed by several other street vendors and locals which took place on Monday evening.
Bokajan is a town in the Karbi Anglong district in the state of Assam, India. Bokajan is best known for its Cement factory (Cement Corporation of India, Bokajan). It is 15 km away from Dimapur and partially borders Nagaland.
