Horrific road accident at Ramnagar bypass leaves three auto passengers seriously injured

A dreadful road accident unfolded in the Pechadahar area of Ramnagar Bypass on Sunday afternoon, leaving three individuals, including the auto driver and a woman, with serious injuries.

Eyewitnesses reported that around 3:30 pm on Sunday, a speeding mini tipper vehicle with registration number AS-11-CC-2399 was heading towards ISBT at Pechadahar on Ramnagar Bypass. Simultaneously, an auto with registration number AS-11-B-0430 was approaching from the opposite direction. The vehicles collided, causing significant damage to the auto and injuring three out of the five passengers, including the driver.

Local residents, upon hearing the accident, swiftly rushed to the scene and attempted to summon an ambulance. However, despite their efforts, the ambulance did not arrive even after an hour. Subsequently, when the police reached the location, the injured were transported to Silchar Medical College in a private car with the assistance of the police and the locals.

This incident has raised concerns among residents as accidents have become frequent in the bypass area, leading to several casualties. The locals are now urging authorities to install barricades in the accident-prone zone. Additionally, they are calling for measures to curb illegal car parking in the area, as they believe it contributes to the accidents. The demand for enhanced safety measures in the bypass area is growing louder among the community members.
