Hotel Worker found dead, hanged himself in Silchar; As the manager said he was advised for a leave.

On Tuesday morning, a tragic incident took place in the Orbit Hotel located in the Ukilpatty area of Silchar, where a hotel worker named Paritosh Das was found dead by hanging himself from the ceiling of the 5th floor of the hotel.

The victim is an internal staff of the hotel who had been working there for quite some time, as said by the hotel staff. “On 26th, he came to us saying that he wasn't feeling well, so the hotel management advised him to take leave for 4 days to go visit his family and get some medical check-up before rejoining us. But he refused and said that he'd rather stay the night of September 26, and then leave the following day. So accordingly, he stayed the night, had a meal here just like any other day and that's it. Since 5 am of the following day, he wasn't seen by anybody so everybody assumed that he had left by then", said Rajat Basu, manager of the Orbit Hotel.

One thing that triggered the hotel staff to be suspicious was the foul smell coming from the dead body when they went to the rear end of the 5th floor for their routine clean up. "That piece of the lodging is least visited as it is the backside. It is usually utilized as a storeroom space. That is the place where the hanging dead body of Paritosh Das was found in an already decomposing state. We then, at that point, promptly called the police". The body was then, at that point, shipped off the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post mortem.
