Illegal liquor bust: Ramnathpur police seize 423 litres of IMFL bound for Mizoram

In a significant crackdown on illegal alcohol trafficking, authorities at Ramnathpur Police Station intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. AS01AE 0379. Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered a staggering haul consisting of 786 cans of Kingfisher beer (500 ml) and 40 bottles of Royal Stag whisky (750 ml). The total seizure amounted to 423 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).

The illegal consignment, en route to Mizoram, was intercepted based on intelligence gathered by law enforcement agencies. Following the discovery, one individual identified as Jonathan Chorei (21 years old), son of Lalvulmul Chorei from Village Kadamtola, PS Bajaricherra, District Karimganj, was apprehended in connection with the illicit transportation.

Authorities have emphasized that further legal actions are underway as they continue their efforts to curb the illegal trafficking of alcohol in the region. This successful operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order and combat illegal activities that pose a threat to public safety.
