Importance of Sindoor and the Necessity to Uphold it Against the Tide of Cultural Degeneracy.

At a time, when we frequently encounter articles on how Sindoor is oppressive, let us have a sensible discussion on its origin and purpose.

Sindoor is in itself a beautiful display of continuous love and a silent prayer for the long and secured life of your beloved. It is more of a beautiful cultural display, where the belief has been transferred and inherited by generations after generations, weaving across the length and breadth of India. It is prayer for your beloveds life, which is actually practiced on a daily basis. No other culture in the whole world has any such vibrant and colourful way of celebrating love, as of the Sanatan Hindu Dharma.

However, the modern day school of thoughts, inspired from their western masters tend to put up a degenerated colour over every beautiful concept, that exists in the culture and involves the participation of both male and female. Comparisons are drawn on what is worn and not why it is worn. The innocent values are demonised in a systematic manner and are done so brilliantly, that young girl actually begin hating their own cultural greatness.

Sindoor is not about oppression but about love. The one who hates it, actually tends to spread negativity only, and corrupt away people from their state of mental peace into a society of continuous conflicts and separations, as practiced in their western ecosystem. The forces are strong and trying to break away the cultural threads of the land, in order to create a society of distress, where mental peace would be hard to find and the materialism would be the most dominating factor, than ever before.

Lets inculcate our old values of empathy and love and not fall prey to the corrupted ideas of our western counterparts. If a thread, or a bit of sindoor strengthens your belief and your spirit of living, let that be kept intact, because it is our society and we have the responsibility to preserve it, against the tides of cultural degeneracy. The day they would win over the mind of us, the women of this part of the world, they would end the era of Lakshmi in every home and the loss would not be financial but cultural, which would be very hard to revive.

If your concept of women empowerment and equality feels insecured by a bit of Sindoor on the hair-parting of a married girl, then you better revisit your core ideas and have a deep inspection of the forces motivating you against this harmless culture.
