100 monuments including the UNESCO World Heritage Sites - Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar in Delhi, Agra Fort,Sikri and Fatehpur Sikri in Uttar Pradesh, Konark temple in Odisha and Mamallapuram Rath temples in Tamil Nadu were lit up to celebrate the great victory of 100cr vaccination mark.

According to official sources, around 75 % of India's adult population has been vaccinated with the first dose and around 31% has been administered with both the doses. Seventeen UNESCO World Heritage Sites are among the 100 monuments which will be lighted up with the colours of the national flag to mark 100 cr. COVID- 19 vaccine doses administered in the country. The officials said it is part of the activities being planned around the milestone across the country.
The 13th century Ramappa temple in Palampet Telangana was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site recently in July 2021. The temple of Vishnu in Manipur's Bishnupur resplendent in saffron, white and green in celebration of India's victory on crossing 100cr vaccination mark.
India's achievement has re - acquainted the World with the immense potential of New India said Shah. Union Health Minster Mansuk Mandaviya attributed the achievement to the PM. "Congratulations India ! This is the result of able leadership of visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi. #VaccineCentury, " he tweeted in hindi.
Mandaviya will also launch a song and audio visual film to celebrate the milestone.
Ashwini Vaishnaw , Union Railway's Minister said that Railway employees also paid an important role in achieving this milestone. The sheer hard work and undeterred perseverance of our scientists, healthcare professionals have resulted in administering “A Billion Doses! ". This profound exercise is a victory for the whole world to cherish.
