India Club of Silchar kicked off their campaign in the Assam Premier Club Cup with a resounding victory in the final round against Saptarshi Club. Saptarshi set a target of 110 runs, with Kalyan Gogoi leading the charge with 30 runs, but India Club's bowling attack, spearheaded by Sudarshan Sinha and supported by Parvez Musharraf and Shekhar Jyoti Burman, restricted them to 110/9 in twenty overs. Ranji stars Sarupam Purkayastha and Diwakar Johri also made significant contributions with the ball.

In response, India Club chased down the target comfortably, losing only three wickets in 13.1 overs. Pervez Musharraf showcased his prowess not only with the ball but also with the bat, playing a blistering innings of 47 runs off just 20 balls at the top of the order.

Swarupam Purkayastha and Manas Gogoi provided crucial support with their contributions. Abhishek Dev and Raju Das ensured victory for the Silchar champions with their unbeaten partnership. With this win under their belt, India Club is poised to take on City Cricket Club in their upcoming match.

The victory highlights India Club's strong start to the tournament and the depth of talent within their squad, with both seasoned Ranji stars and emerging players making significant contributions. As they prepare to face City Cricket Club in their next fixture, the team will be looking to build on this momentum and continue their winning streak in the Assam Premier Club Cup.
