"India lost World Cup because of PM's presence, Tejas might 'crash' as PM did sortie", shocking claims by TMC MP Santanu Sen
Trinamool Congress MP Santanu Sen has expressed apprehensions about the Tejas fighter jet's safety, asserting that it might "crash" after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent flight on the aircraft in Bengaluru. Sen linked past events involving the Prime Minister, including the ISRO failure and the performance of a Bollywood movie after meeting Kangana Ranaut, to express his concerns.
"I'm afraid that in no time this particular aircraft might crash," Sen alleged, citing instances where he believes Narendra Modi's presence has been associated with negative outcomes.
In response, External Affairs Minister (EAM) highlighted PM Modi's Tejas sortie as a statement of Atmanirbhar Bharat and a boost to Make in India. The EAM emphasized the Prime Minister's commitment to the nation's defense.
Meanwhile, TMC's Kunal Ghosh dismissed Sen's remarks as unrelated to the Tejas issue, attributing them to BJP's pre-election politics. Ghosh accused BJP of shifting focus from essential issues, stating, "Tejas is a separate thing. What are his (PM Modi's) intentions?...Tejas is not the subject...He is deviating from the issues of 'roti-kapda-makaan.'"
The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) recently delivered the first Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) twin-seater trainer version to the Indian Air Force (IAF). PM Modi shared his Tejas flight experience on X, expressing confidence in India's indigenous capabilities. The IAF has orders for 83 new LCAs named 'LCA Mark 1A.' The sortie, overseen by the IAF, aimed to showcase the nation's defense prowess.
