Is Bengal going to be the Hotspot in Next Wave : West Bengal COVID cases - positivity rate shoot up. 

Kolkata, which looks like paying the price of puja shopping and pandal hopping, recorded 242 new Covid infections this Friday. Of the newly infected people, 150 were fully vaccinated while 15 of them had taken their first dose of the vaccine.

According to several doctors despite several warnings, the people of West Bengal had violated COVID-19 protocols not just during the festival days but much ahead of the festival.

TMC MLA Atin Ghosh said, even after taking double dose the people were seen leaving their house without their masks for which currently the positivity rate is high in Kolkata and north 24 parganas.

As per a report, safe houses and quarantine centres in the city will be reopened on Monday for patients who need to isolate themselves.
