Is the reason same again? Another employee of cachar paper mill dies
Fariz uddin an employee of defunct cachar paper mill dies at his residence. Was his death due to lack of treatment?
'Cachar paper mill' - also known as HPC panchgram. The story of HPC from "Heaven to Hell" is known to everyone as once upon a time it was the heart of Barak Valley. But when Asia's 2nd largest paper corporation i.e; Cachar paper mill shuts down, it's impact was seen soon. Employee's salaries were stopped and they started to loose their savings. After a year unimaginable scarcity began and many aged employees started losing their lives due to lack of treatment.
Fariz Uddin’s death has increased the amount of total employees’ death in 84 out of which four had committed suicide while the others died due to lack of treatment.
Fariz uddin was an operator of the mill and was suffering from cancer. Medical attention due to an acute financial crisis was impossible.
The employees of the two mills- Cachar Paper Mill and Jagiroad Paper Mill of the Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited are yet to get their salaries for the past several months. Will the government still avoid the matter or will they put an eye on this?
The general secretary of the Cachar Paper Project Workers and Employees Union (Independent), AR Mazumder, said that the Union registered a strong protest during the recent visit of the Prime Minister as the government has failed to revive these mills. Allegations are made that the employees are facing extreme hardship due to non-payment of salaries. Mazumder urged the prime Minister to fulfil his promise to revive the mills for the sake of a large number of affected families.
ALL WE CAN HOPE IS NO HOPE AT ALL!
