JAFA honors 21 prominent journalists at grand reception in Guwahati

The Journalists Association for Assam (JAFA) recently organized a reception in Guwahati, where they felicitated 21 prominent journalists from the state. The event took place at the Convention and Training Building of the Works Department at Guwahati Lastgate.

The journalists were honored with certificates, medals, shawls, chamois, and other gifts through the Rural Journalism Award. Among the awardees were Enamul Kabir Lashkar from Dhalai Yugshankh, Julie Das from Karimganj, and Sujit Chand from Gon Awaz. They were recognized for their remarkable efficiency in the field of journalism.

The reception meeting witnessed the presence of notable personalities, including Abhijit Chowdhury, the President of JAFA, Surya Hazarika, the President of Assam Sahitya Sabha, Nab Sharanya, MP, Naren Hazarika, the President of Dispur Press Club, and Atul Bara, Mahendra Hazarika, and others who delivered relevant speeches.

The program commenced with a soulful performance of Bargeet by music artist Meenakshi Decker, adding an auspicious touch to the event.
