The comments, stating 'Jeno je camera ala pawo dhoriya fito' (Wherever you find a Camera Journalist, just beat them), were met with swift condemnation from the Silchar Press Club.
In response to Ajmal's offensive comments, journalists from various media houses gathered for an emergency meeting at the Silchar Press Club on Saturday. The unanimous sentiment among the journalists was one of disapproval, and they collectively demanded a written apology from Badar Uddin Ajmal within the next 24 hours.

Silchar Press Club Secretary Sankar Dey went a step further, urging media outlets to refrain from publishing any news related to the AIUDF party until an apology is issued. The demand for an apology is seen as a crucial step to maintain the dignity and safety of journalists in the region.
