Journalists Attacked by Close Aides of Algapur MLA While Covering Dilapidated Road Protest

Journalists were attacked by aides of an MLA in Shirispur, Hailakandi, while covering a protest against the poor condition of a road connecting Hailakandi town and Shirispur with Ratabari constituency. The road has not been repaired for 10 years despite repeated complaints to the Public Works Department and the MLA. A group of four or five people led by a cadre of the MLA named Mojibur Tapadar attacked the journalists, damaging their equipment.

The journalists later filed an FIR against Mojibur Tapadar. The incident has sparked outrage among journalists and locals, who are demanding the arrest of the attackers.
