Karimganj Administration response to cyclone 'Yaas'
The destructive cyclone 'Yaas' has made landfall over East Central Bay of Bengal and its surging effect is yet to be felt in different parts of Assam. In response to this, the Karimganj district administration has put the response forces on alert mode.
After getting a letter from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority to all Deputy Commissioners on Monday, putting light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy rainfall at isolated places. The district administration authorities have directed the response forces to keep vigil in the riverine and flood-prone areas, keeping a view of cyclonic storm Yaas thrashing East Central Bay of Bengal on Wednesday and Thursday till midnight
The district authorities have asked the Fire and Emergency Services, NDRF, SDRF, Civil Defence and other response forces to remain on alert mode.
