Large quantity of illegal cough syrup seized in Silchar, three arrested

In a significant bust, a large quantity of illegal cough syrup was seized in Silchar's Janiganj area. Acting on a tip-off, Silchar police searched a Swift car and confiscated nearly 1,000 bottles of cough syrup.

Three suppliers from Karimganj's Baraigram, identified as Vijay Kumar Nath, Uttam Nabasudra, and Rashid Ahmed, were arrested.

The cough syrup, worth several lakh rupees in the market, was seized while being transported from a courier service in Janiganj.

The police operation underscores the ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal drug trafficking in the region.
