In a bid to draw attention to the dilapidated condition of the Arkatipur-Dayapur road, the local organization "Amra Kichu Kori" submitted a memorandum to the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) today. The memorandum urgently demands the repair of the road, which has been in a state of disrepair for five years, causing immense inconvenience to residents, particularly students.
The Arkatipur-Dayapur road, situated within the Udharbond Assembly Constituency, has been plagued by enormous potholes resembling ponds, making daily commute a daunting task for the locals. Despite allocated funds earlier this year and the awarding of the renovation contract to M/S Ram Krishna Traders, the restoration work is yet to commence, aggravating the road's condition further.
Expressing their deep concerns, members of "Amra Kichu Kori" engaged in a discussion with the PWD's Executive Engineer, urging immediate action to fulfill the promise of road restoration. The organization emphasized the urgency of the situation, particularly with the upcoming Durga Puja festival, a significant event in the region, adding pressure on the authorities to swiftly address this long-standing issue.
The local residents, especially students, have been facing considerable challenges due to the road's deteriorated state, and their patience is wearing thin. With the threat of a potential mass agitation looming if restoration work isn't initiated before Durga Puja, the authorities are under increased pressure to expedite the process and ensure the road becomes safer and more accessible for everyone in the community.
