The Lumding-Badarpur hill railway, which experienced a collapse between Jatinga Lampur and New Harangajao Station about 15 days ago, is now slowly resuming operations.
Despite the destruction of an area spanning approximately 100 meters, cargo trains and diesel-laden trains have been observed heading towards Agartala on Saturday.
Although long-distance passenger trains continue to operate throughout the day, they are doing so at a reduced speed of 10 km/h.
However, the absence of crucial services like the Guwahati-Silchar passenger train, Guwahati-Badarpur Express, and Guwahati-Durlabchar local trains is exacerbating the challenges faced by residents of neighboring states such as Tripura, Mizoram, and Manipur.
