Major drug seizure at Assam- Mizoram border: Two arrested with 900gms of heroin

In a major operation, the Dhalai police apprehended two individuals, identified as 19-year-old Arun Kumar and 18-year-old Arun Kumar, for their involvement in drug trafficking.

The authorities seized approximately 900 grams of heroin, concealed within 93 soap boxes, from a truck bearing registration number HR 55 T/5402 at Lailapur on the Assam-Mizoram border last night.

The market value of the confiscated narcotics is estimated to be substantial, totaling Rs 3 crore. Alongside the arrests, the police also detained a passerby named Khulakfor Ibunga, hailing from Manipur state, in connection with the case.

This significant drug seizure highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb illegal drug activities in the region. The arrested individuals will face legal proceedings as authorities continue their crackdown on drug-related offenses.
