Micro-houses for underprivileged curved from concrete pipes by Telangana Girl.
The Youth of India has been seen to come up with brilliant ways of creating life-changing things.
A 23-year-old civil engineer from Telangana named Perala Manasa recently launched OPods or micro homes carved out of concrete sewage pipes. The sewage pipes are 2000 mm in diameter. The revolutionary concrete homes, which are considered to have a life span of around 100 years, has modern facilities like a bedroom, kitchen, washroom and shelves. Not only that, it also has facilities like electricity, water, and drainage. Above the cylindrical pipe, there is a lounge area too that looks like a balcony.
These homes are primarily offered to the underprivileged, however, Manasa has 12 different designs of mobile homes that can come to use in various sectors like hotels, restaurants, mobile clinics, guardrooms and more.
The revolutionary houses may cost around ₹3.5 lakh to ₹5.5 lakh. Seeing how people live under thatched roofs in urban slums has inspired her to make these OPods, which can also be translocated.
This invention can change the lives of the underprivileged as well as the common people manifolds.
