MP's Cop Attempts CPR on a Snake, gives Kiss of Life who Drank Pesticide-Laced Water
The incident occurred in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, where a non-poisonous snake had entered a residential pipeline.
A constable from Madhya Pradesh gained widespread attention due to a viral video showing him attempting to perform CPR on a snake. The reptile had become immobile after consuming water contaminated with pesticide. Despite the cop's efforts, veterinarians interviewed by NDTV doubted the effectiveness of CPR on snakes, suggesting the creature might have recovered on its own.
The incident occurred in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, where a non-poisonous snake had entered a residential pipeline. Residents, unable to remove the snake, poured pesticide-laced water into the pipe, rendering the snake unconscious. Constable Atul Sharma, a self-taught snake rescuer, arrived at the scene. In the video, he can be seen closely examining the snake before attempting mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. With the crowd encouraging him, Sharma sprinkled clean water on the snake, which eventually started moving again.
Sharma, who claims to have rescued around 500 snakes in 15 years, credited his knowledge to closely following the Discovery Channel.
