Murder suspect escapes 7 bullets amid dramatic gunshots in Assam's Bilasipara, later caught

In a dramatic sequence of events in Bilasipara, Assam's Dhubri district, the stillness of the night was shattered by gunshots as the police executed a late-night operation against a murder suspect. The target of the operation, Ali Akbar, accused of a May murder in Char Chapori's Ward 8, faced a barrage of seven gunshots from the police in a bid to thwart his escape.

The operation, spearheaded by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) and the Officer In-Charge of Bilasipara Police Station, unfolded in Machpara area after confidential information pointed to Akbar's presence. However, it appeared that Akbar was tipped off about the impending police action, prompting him to attempt an escape through agricultural paths near the river.

As the police confronted Akbar, gunfire erupted in an effort to immobilize him. Despite multiple rounds being discharged, Akbar miraculously evaded injury and fled the scene. Undeterred, the police intensified their pursuit, leading to Akbar's eventual apprehension in shallow waters near the initial confrontation site.
