Due to administrative negligence, the Mrityunjay 108 ambulance service at Borakhal Hospital has been severely compromised. The service provided critical support for a long time, but ten days ago, the existing ambulance broke down.

A replacement was provided but it lacks an emergency siren and a fan. On Monday, a serious accident in Maynagarh highlighted these deficiencies when an auto-rickshaw lost control and crashed, severely injuring its driver and passengers.

The victims were transported to Borakhal Hospital and then referred to Silchar Medical College Hospital in the deficient ambulance, causing delays and discomfort.

Victims and their families expressed anger over the poor state of the ambulance, noting the absence of a functional emergency siren and interior fan.

This incident raised questions about the preparedness of the Mrityunjay 108 service and its management's awareness of the critical issues. Locals have demanded a well-equipped ambulance for Borakhal Hospital to ensure efficient emergency response and patient safety.
