Nitin Gadkari Hoists India's Tallest National Flag at Attari- Wagah Border, Symbolizing National Pride and Unity

In a momentous event, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the tallest national flag in the country, standing at an impressive height of 418 feet, at the Attari-Wagah border in Punjab's Amritsar district on Thursday. Speaking passionately at the ceremony, Gadkari expressed his gratitude and patriotism, acknowledging the significance of the occasion. He stated, "It is the golden day of my life... NHAI has installed the tallest national flag here. There is a place that inspires you to be patriotic... I am delighted. I thank the jawans who are guarding our borders."
This monumental tricolor, costing approximately Rs. 3.5 crore, stands taller than its predecessor, which measured 360 feet. The decision to raise the height came in response to Pakistan's installation of a 400-foot flag adjacent to the Wagah check-post in 2017. India's new flag now stands 18 feet higher than Pakistan's on the opposite side of the border.
The national flag itself is a horizontal tricolor featuring saffron at the top, representing the strength and courage of the country. The white middle band symbolizes peace, truth, and Dharma Chakra, while the green at the bottom signifies fertility, growth, and the auspiciousness of the land. The design was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on July 22, 1947, and remains a powerful symbol of the nation's unity and pride.
The inauguration of this tallest national flag marks a historic moment, emphasizing the spirit of patriotism and national unity at the Attari-Wagah border.
