Observation of World Suicide Prevention Day by Barak Valley Welfare Development Society.

In a program organized by District Health Society, National Health Mission (NHM) Cachar, Silchar, the Barak Valley Welfare Development Society (NGO) has observed the World Suicide Prevention Day, 2021 at UJJAWALA Shelter Home for Boys and Girls and Open Shelter Home along with Targeted Intervention and Screening Camp.

The dignitaries included Dr. Dipankar Chakraborty(District Program Officer) {District Mental Health Programme}. Mr.Sachindra Singha from District Health Society, Support staff {National Control of Disease}.

Moreover, lunch for all the children who were present in the shelter home was arranged.

Miss alPuja Das( Project Director, Ujjawala Project) Mrs Sudipta Das Gupta, Mrs.Mousumi Choudhury Miss.Puja Deb ( Social Worke,Ujjawala)Mrs.Ankita Ghosh(Project Coordinator Open Shelter)& Miss Nippachaya Bhattacharya( Social Worker) Open Shelter Home were present on behalf of the organising member.

The District Programme Officer who is a doctor by profession also had a good valuable discussion on the ongoing situation due to Covid 19 its effect on mankind and also various solutions to tackle the problem. He further also added a few preventive measures to stop the ever-growing rate of suicide.

On behalf of the organisation, Gaurav Chanda thanked the NHM staff and doctors for Cooperation and Support. And thanks to all our organization members and Project staff for their tireless works in arranging the program for both the home inmates.
