Outcry for justice: Kathigorah people demand death penalty for minor rape accused

Tension gripped the Kathigorah office complex on Tuesday as parents and students of Katirail Ambikacharan High School demanded the execution of Jitendra Sutradhar, accused in a rape case. Around 12:30 pm, a large rally led by parents and school students surged into the Kathigorah circle office premises, united in their call for justice. The resounding demand echoed through the air – the hanging of Jitendra, the alleged rapist.

Organized by the School Management Committee President, Divya Jyoti Chowdhury, and conscientious citizens of the area, the rally aimed to draw attention to the heinous crime. Circle Officer Robert Toulor received a memorandum from the protestors, emphasizing their collective plea for the harshest punishment for the accused.

Addressing the situation, Circle Officer Robert Toulor assured the gathering that the memorial letter would be forwarded to the District Magistrate, urging the court to deliver the severest penalty to the alleged rapist. Meanwhile, SIL Chingchong Janan of Kathigorah police station clarified that the accused was arrested promptly after receiving information the previous day, and the court would decide his fate. The community's call for justice reflects the urgency and gravity of the situation, with the legal system expected to adjudicate on the matter.
