Over 100 members from BJP, AIUDF, and AAP join Congress in Silchar
In a significant boost to the Congress party, a joining meeting was organized at the Silchar District Congress office in the presence of AICC Secretary Prithviraj Prabhakar Sathe. During the meeting, over 100 members left various parties and organizations, including BJP, AIUDF, and Aam Aadmi Party, to join Congress. Cachar Congress officials formally welcomed all the new members.
Speaking to the media, AICC Secretary Prithviraj Prabhakar Sathe stated that leaders and supporters from different political parties were inspired by the ideals and principles of Congress, leading them to join the party. He expressed hope that their inclusion would further strengthen the party in the future. Sathe also mentioned that the party is gearing up for the upcoming Dholai Assembly elections and will work diligently to secure a victory. He added that meetings with the block committee and workers at all levels in Dholai would be organized soon, as Congress has set its sights on winning the Dholai constituency. He emphasized that the party is committed to ensuring the victory of deserving candidates through discussions and collaboration with party workers.
The joining meeting was attended by prominent figures, including former minister Ajit Singh, Katigorah MLA Khalil Uddin Mazumdar, Misbahul Islam Laskar, Simanta Bhattacharjee, Sanjeev Roy, Sujan Dutta, and Suryakanta Sarkar, along with other party leaders and workers.
This significant influx of new members is expected to provide a substantial boost to the Congress party's efforts in the upcoming elections.
