In a celebratory event held at Silchar's police parade ground, 6,655 beneficiaries in Cachar district joined hands with 2,22,949 others across Assam to witness the culmination of their financial burdens. Under the Assam Micro Finance Incentive and Relief Scheme (AMFIRS), loans totaling a staggering Rs 300 crores were waived off, bringing immense relief to the recipients. The event, graced by Dr Rajdeep Roy, Member of Parliament in Silchar, marked the successful implementation of this initiative, aimed at empowering the state's citizens financially.

During the ceremony, Chief Guest of Honour Dr Rajdeep Roy personally distributed No Dues Certificates to the beneficiaries, symbolizing their liberated financial status. Speaking passionately about the project, he revealed that this visionary initiative was the brainchild of Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam. By waiving the loans of these beneficiaries, Dr Sarma has gifted them a brighter future just in time for the upcoming Puja festivities. The No Dues Certificates provided to the recipients will enhance their credit scores, enabling them to seek financial assistance confidently in the future.
