Pm Modi chairs high level meeting on Covid-19
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the covid situation in Varanasi. The Prime Minister stressed that everyone should follow the "distance of two meters and the mask is essential". Stressing the importance of the vaccination campaign, the Prime Minister said the administration should notify all people over 45 years of Age.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an important meeting on the COVID-19 situation at 11:30 a.m. today.
The meeting comes on a day when India has recorded an increase of 2.73,810 new cases, 1,619 deaths.
On Sunday, PM Modi reviewed the Covid situation in Varanasi. During the discussion, the Prime Minister stressed that everyone should follow the “distance of two meters and the mask is essential”. Stressing the importance of the vaccination campaign, the prime minister said the administration should notify all people over 45. He also asked the administration to extend all possible assistance to the people of Varanasi with the utmost sensitivity.
At the review meeting on April 17, PM Modi stressed that there is no substitute for testing, monitoring and treatment. He also called on officials to make efforts to use all national capacity, both in the public and private sectors, to speed up vaccine production.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in India has crossed the 1.50 crore mark, while active cases exceeded the 19 lakh mark, according to data from the Union Ministry of Health updated on Monday.
The national count of COVID-19 cases has risen to 1.50,61,919 with a record one-day increase of 2.73,810 coronavirus infections.
The death toll rose to 1,789,769 with a record 1,619 new deaths per day, according to data updated at 8 a.m.
