In a significant move towards inclusive economic development, the Punjab National Bank (PNB) Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) in Cachar, Shillchar, inaugurated a ten-day Entrepreneurship Development Program tailored for Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

The initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Anisa Foundation, commenced with a formal ceremony attended by notable dignitaries including Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Lead District Manager (LDM) of Cachar, and Jagjyoti Bhattacharya, Director of PNB RSETI Cachar. The event saw the presence of key stakeholders, underscoring the commitment towards empowering PWDs through entrepreneurial skills.

During the inauguration, Jagjyoti Bhattacharya shed light on the evolving societal perceptions towards disability and emphasized government initiatives aimed at fostering their development.

Highlighting the pivotal role of collaborative efforts between PNB RSETI Cachar, Anisa Foundation, and government bodies, Bhattacharya stressed the importance of promoting entrepreneurship and economic empowerment among PWDs. The training program, facilitated by industry experts and coordinators like Shahed Chowdhury, aims to equip participants with essential entrepreneurial competencies and practical skills necessary for business establishment and growth.

Lead District Manager Dinesh Kumar Gupta outlined the post-training support mechanism, indicating that successful participants will be guided to access government loans for initiating their ventures. The training curriculum encompasses a wide spectrum of topics including business opportunity identification, marketing strategies, and practical workshops on candle making, mushroom cultivation, and agricultural extension.

With an array of skill-building activities, the workshop aspires to not only enhance the employability of PWDs but also foster their economic independence. The training workshop is scheduled to conclude on May 22nd, heralding a new chapter of empowerment and inclusivity in Cachar's entrepreneurial landscape.
