Police arrest four at Dholai in special operation against illegal Burmese Supari of around 1200 kgs
In a proactive move against the illicit transportation of Burmese supari, Dholai police station conducted a targeted operation leading to significant recoveries and the apprehension of four individuals.
A truck with registration number NL-01-Q-2146 was intercepted, revealing a cargo of 300 kgs of suspected Burmese supari. Two suspects, Jayant Sahu (19 yrs) and Faruk Ahmed Barbhuiya (19 yrs), were taken into custody.
Another truck, identified by registration number AS-26-C-9309, was seized carrying 600 kgs of suspected Burmese supari. Arrests were made in connection with this vehicle, with Azad Hussain Laskar (24 yrs) and Nasir Uddin Laskar (22 yrs) detained.
A Swift car, registered as ML-05-K-4722, was intercepted, revealing a load of 200 kgs of suspected Burmese supari. Sarim Uddin Talukder (21 yrs) was arrested in connection with this vehicle.
A WagonR vehicle bearing registration number AS 11/N-6475 was confiscated, and 200 kgs of suspected Burmese supari were discovered, resulting in the arrest of Sri Subrata Das.
All individuals apprehended reside in various areas within Cachar, Assam. Legal proceedings are currently underway, underscoring law enforcement's commitment to curbing the illegal transportation of goods and taking stringent actions against those involved in such activities.
