Police arrest MBBS students for acting as dummy candidates in NEET exam in Rajasthan's Bharatpur
An MBBS student acting as a proxy candidate in the NEET exam was detained in Rajasthan's Bharatpur, along with five others, including the NEET aspirant Rahul Gurjar.
The detained student, identified as Abhishek Gupta, was allegedly part of a racket orchestrated by his college mate, Ravi Meena. Meena purportedly accepted ₹10 lakh from Gurjar to arrange for Gupta to appear as his proxy in the exam.
The incident came to light when an invigilator at the examination center raised suspicions about Gupta impersonating the NEET candidate. Gupta was subsequently handed over to the police, where he confessed to being part of a group consisting of five other individuals.
A case has been registered against Gupta, Gurjar, and three others under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, as stated by Assistant Superintendent of Police Aklesh Kumar.
