Police arrests 3 for honey-trapping and blackmailing a priest in Guwahati.

Police arrested three accused including a woman for honey-trapping a temple priest named Bhagirathi Shastri in the Fatasil Ambari area of Guwahati. As per reports, the woman had blackmailed the priest by sending him indecent videos via WhatsApp after which she demanded a hefty amount of money.

The arrested persons are identified as Pramod Tiwari, Rajni Kothari and Bhavojit Sen. According to the Fatasil police, the woman had trapped the priest first and then befriended him for heinous purposes. It is reported that the lady made video calls to the priest on WhatsApp(some of them are nasty), recorded the scenes and then threatened that she would viral all the videos on social media.

Her only purpose was to extort money from the priest and if he refused to pay her desired amount of money then she would make the recorded videos public on social media platforms.

The priest, however, didn't pay any heed to the lady's words and filed a FIR against the woman and her associates in Fatasil Police Station, Guwahati. The police afterwards arrested the trio and gave them custody for a period of five days. The police is further investigating the matter.
