Police rescuses young woman after Meghalaya man tried to tempt her into marriage; accused claims victim's family threatened him with physical harm

In Silchar town, the police intervened to rescue a young woman who was lured into marriage attempts by a youth from the Syedpur area through various enticements.
The recent incident involves a college-going young woman who was being harassed by a tormentor from Meghalaya, attempting to force her into marriage.
The perpetrator, identified as Azim Laskar, purported himself as a wealthy individual, claiming ownership of vast properties and vehicles, and harassed the young woman into marriage attempts.
After coercing the young woman into eloping, her family members filed a complaint with the Rangirkhari Police. Simultaneously, the family also sought assistance from Kamrul Islam Laskar, the director of the nearby New Life Foundation.
Subsequently, the police managed to rescue the young woman from Meghalaya and brought her back to Silchar. They then explained the situation to her family members.
During an interview with journalists, the victim narrated how she was tempted into marriage by Azim Laskar. She expressed her gratitude towards Kamrul Islam Laskar and her uncle for their unwavering support throughout the ordeal.
On the other hand, the accused, Azim Laskar, allegedly assaulted Kamrul Islam Laskar and his team upon returning home after Friday prayers last week.
He reportedly threatened Azim Laskar's life and demanded appropriate punishment from the authorities.
Azim Laskar claims innocence and asserts that he was threatened with physical harm. He appeals for fair justice from the administration.
