Police Seize Over Rs 70 Lakhs Worth of Drugs at Badarpur, Detain 5 Smugglers including a Woman

In a significant breakthrough, law enforcement officials in Assam's Badarpur conducted successful search operations based on specific intelligence inputs, leading to the seizure of narcotics valued at over Rs 70 lakhs. The raids, carried out by the Badarpur Police, also resulted in the detention of five smugglers associated with the illegal drug trade.
Acting swiftly on received information, the Badarpur Police apprehended the suspects, including a woman, who were allegedly involved in smuggling narcotics. During the operation, a total of 277.22 grams of heroin was confiscated from the group of smugglers, highlighting the scale of the illicit trade.
The detained individuals were identified as Hassan Ali, Najir Uddin, Babul Hussain Laskar, Lalsanjo, and Tunhaulian Langel. Among them, the first three are residents of Badarpur, while the remaining two hail from Churachandpur in Manipur.
Law enforcement officials managed to catch the accused red-handed while they were in the midst of a drug deal behind a pan shop near a mosque in Badarpur's West Deorail region. Authorities revealed that the seized narcotics had been transported from Mizoram to Badarpur, where they were being peddled.
