Prisoner named Dilwar Hussain Lashkar commits suicide inside Silchar Central Jail

An accused named Dilwar Hussain Laskar committed suicide inside Silchar Central Jail today.

According to reports, Laskar had been arrested three months ago under the POCSO Act by Katigorah police.

Upon receiving news of the suicide, Sadar police and a magistrate arrived at the jail to investigate.

The family alleges that Laskar was arrested on false charges of rape and had been denied bail four times. They claim that his incarceration on false charges led him to take his own life.
