Team Mates to Lead Insurance Drive in Northeast India
May 20: In a groundbreaking initiative, private firm Team Mates has announced a campaign to provide free insurance to one million rickshaw pullers.
The announcement was made during a press conference in Silchar by the company’s Managing Director, Pankaj Sharma, along with other directors. They highlighted the financial insecurity faced by this vulnerable group and the importance of ensuring their well-being through insurance.
Sharma stated that the initiative is part of a broader effort spearheaded by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) to secure insurance for economically weaker sections.
As part of this initiative, Team Mates has been entrusted with the responsibility for the entire northeastern region.
In addition to this campaign, Team Mates is also launching a rural insurance awareness program, known as the CANOPY initiative. This program aims to educate rural populations about the benefits of insurance under the slogan "Insurance for All."
The press conference was attended by other key directors of Team Mates, including Dhruvajyoti Sengupta, Sanchita Sharma, and Zailur Islam Mazumdar.
They expressed their commitment to achieving the targets set by IRDA and improving insurance awareness and accessibility in the region.
