Protest continues at Silchar Medical College Hospital for doctors' safety

As nationwide protests erupt over the murder of a female doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College, doctors at Silchar Medical College Hospital have continued their unified protest, demanding the assurance of their safety. On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, junior doctors staged a sit-in with placards, raising slogans that echoed through the hospital premises.

Expressing their anger, the protesting doctors stated that despite their relentless service in saving lives, their own safety is now under threat. They condemned the targeting of doctors over trivial issues, calling it deeply unfortunate. The doctors demanded justice for the brutally murdered female doctor in Kolkata and called for the punishment of the perpetrators.

They also highlighted that similar incidents have been happening across the country, yet no permanent solution has been found. The doctors urged the SMC authorities to install CCTV cameras in the hospital and deploy security personnel to ensure their safety.
