Proud moment for Cachar, the District Administration sets record of longest Rangoli
The District Administration Cachar successfully bags the record of longest rangoli on voter awareness in India Book of Records. The 8.18km long rangoli gains immense public engagement and public attention.
14th March 2021, a date to remember. Cachar witnessed it's District Administration create history. As a part of SVEEP campaign for Assam Legislative Assembly elections, the District Administration Cachar geared up to set the record of longest rangoli. The 8.18km long rangoli is the longest rangoli made to spread vote awareness. The claimant achieved the record as per the International Protocol of Records (IPR). The 'District Administration Cachar' will be present in India Book of Records- 2022 edition.
The event started early in the morning in presence of DC Cachar, Smti Keerthi Jalli IAS and ended after 5pm. The youth engagement in the process of drawing the rangoli was remarkable. Addressing the crowd gathered in the outset of the event, DC Cachar said that the record will be a salutation to all the artists of Cachar.
The main motive of the event was to send out the message that the general public has to uphold the pride and dignity of Cachar
And must not waste their vote. The rangoli drive was a way of manifesting the importance of vote among the people of Cachar.
Mr. Jitendra Kumar Jain, Adjudicator of India Book of Records praised the initiative he said, "The district administration is doing a very commendable job. SVEEP campaigns must be done with great enthusiasm. Smti. Keerthi Jalli is changing the way natives of Cachar see their locality."
While talking about how the rangoli drive will impact the public he said, "I personally think that the event will gain public interest, especially the interest of first time voters."
He talked about the significance of rangoli. He said that rangoli is different from street art. Street art is anything artistic drawn on the streets but rangoli is something very auspicious. Rangoli represents the liveliness of people, it also symbolises the beginning of something good and positive. "The administration is doing justice to the theme of the campaign. Today is definitely a proud moment for Cachar," he further added.
