Restoration of Bethukandi Dyke to be completed soon, assures Cachar DC, Rohan Kumar Jhaa

As a day before near about 18-20 NGOs of Barak Valley has visited the Bethukandi embankment area and protested against the ongoing slow work and raised questions on the administration. NGOs surveyed the place and the ongoing works procedure where they found a lot of inconsistency in the work. 

The protest lead the Deputy Commissioner to hold a press meet and clearup the matter to general public. He says the work of Gonigram to Katigorah embankment is 45% complete and Tarapur to Sonai embankment is also in progress and 18% of its work has been completed. This embankments work has been given to 4 contractors. 

DC, Cachar, Rohan Kumar Jhaa, today in a press conference clarifies about the work progress of the embankments in Cachar district. He assures public that the work will be completed soon.

He also cleared out that no further inconsistency in the work will be tolerated and if any loose ends are found then strict action will be initiated against them.
