Cristiano Ronaldo has had a dream return to Manchester United as he scored two goals. United went on to beat Newcastle 4-1 in Old Trafford. Ronaldo has 120 goals for Manchester United.
Ronaldo, the 36-year-old said that he did not come back to Manchester United for a “vacation”. Brune Fernandes and Jesse Lingard scored the other two goals.
The Portuguese forward has scored his first Premier League goal since May 2009; his gap of 12 years and 124 days between goals is the second-longest between two strikes by any player in the competition's history, after Matt Jackson (1993-2006).
Ronaldo spent six seasons at United between 2003-09, winning eight major trophies, and was one of the team's most decorated players.
