RR hails Guwahati ground staff as 'Player of the Match'
The eagerly awaited IPL match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara, was abandoned due to persistent rain. Despite the weather's interference, the true heroes of the night were recognized by the Rajasthan Royals - the dedicated ground staff.
The match faced delays from the start as the weather in Guwahati deteriorated. The ground staff were seen tirelessly stretching the cover across the entire field and removing it multiple times whenever there was a brief pause in the rain. Despite being drenched, their commitment to their duties was unwavering.
In appreciation of their relentless efforts, the Rajasthan Royals took to X (formerly Twitter) to acknowledge the ground staff. "Game or no game, tonight’s men of the match. RR tweeted, highlighting their gratitude for the hard work. The match, which had attracted a jam-packed stadium with all tickets sold out, was finally abandoned at around 10:50 PM. Despite the disappointment, fans and teams united in their praise for the ground staff, who worked under challenging conditions to try and make the game possible.
