Scam in Indian Oil Corporation Limited - Workers Seeks Justice

Trust is what survives humanity, and betrayal makes you doubt the same. Something similar happened with some people working for IOCL which made them suffer for 2years and the case doesn't seem to find any conclusion.

Three partners namely Saumitra Nath, Ranjit Sarkar and Sujit Kumar Dey have a hefty sum of money stuck with Indian Oil Corporation Limited Moinarbond and M/S MBM, Calcutta.

Soumitra Nath, an engineer by profession, proprietor of Sneha Techno Solution, has worked with Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Moinarbond, as a sub-contractor under MBM Projects and Services a Calcutta based company,  starting from May 2019 to August 2019. They worked under a memorandum of understanding that M/S MBM Projects & Services will keep 6-8% of project cost drawn out of the project and the rest amount will be given to Sneha Techno Solutions.

After the first R.A Bill, M/s STS didn't receive any amount of their investment. However, after the second R.A Bill, they received a sum of around 4lakh rupees followed by another payment of around 4lakh rupees while the actual amount was far greater.

Nath says that around 50lakhs of his own money is stuck in this project while the total liabilities of all contractors, suppliers, landowners rises more than 3.50 Crores. M/S STS wrote a letter to IOCL for the clearance of their money through MBM but that didn't bear any fruit. They eventually stopped working there, and the company continued it over to some other party from Tripura.

While being interviewed by Explore Valley, Soumitra Nath said, "IOCL as Principal Employer, should've closed the account when we put up the complaint of payment, and should've negotiated with MBM and Sneha Techno Solution, but for some unfortunate reasons they gave their full support to MBM".

He further adds, "I know many other cases where people have their money blocked under IOCL, including suppliers, contractors, landowners".

He didn't fight less against the scam. He had submitted a memorandum of 107 pages too to many political leaders, MLAs, DC, PMO Office, PM Narendra Modi and many more, but no one has thrust their hands for help which has broken him down completely, as he is clueless now as to from where he can seek help anymore. They have even put this issue to public attention through an article in the past but couldn't attain the spotlight.

While interviewing Ranjit Sarkar (material collector) and Sujit Kumar Dey (transporter of goods), both are partners with Soumitra Nath, confirmed the same.

They are utterly devastated fighting this battle all alone for 2 years, not only for them but also for the guileless labourers (Case no 3/19, 4/19 under labour court are also pending) who are suffering for the money for such a long period.

Unfortunately, Soumitra Nath, being the team leader of Sneha Techno Solutions is also facing other court cases only because of non-payment to his suppliers. Organisations like Meghalaya Cement, Ghosh Brothers (Mithu Ghosh), Kolkata Concrete, Rupam Saha and many more those who have believed Soumitra Nath and invested before him are also suffering badly because of non-payment to M/S STS.

Living in a democratic country, no human being should have to face such betrayal and loss, considering the number of power holding individuals who could have helped them through this and save them from this ruinous experience of their lives.
