Severe flooding in Karimganj District as Shingla river overflows

Catastrophic flooding has struck several villages in the Baruala GP and Nawatila GP areas in the western part of the Ramakrishnanagar assembly constituency, Karimganj district.

The Singla River has breached its danger limit, inundating numerous communities and leaving residents in a state of panic.

In the Nawatila GP, the villages of Palishree, Nalarpar, and Bhavanipur are particularly hard-hit.

The river’s aggressive surge has rendered the road from Pallisree Chowmatha to Bhavanipur village impassable, isolating these communities and complicating rescue and relief efforts.

The river has overflowed a crucial dam, exacerbating the situation and increasing the water level dramatically.

One of the most alarming developments is the flooding near a mosque, which stands perilously close to the raging waters.

The mosque, along with nearby houses, is at risk of being submerged as the river’s water continues to rise, threatening the safety and property of local residents.
