Flood crisis in Udharbond: 90% of homes submerged, rescue operations underway

Flooding in Udharbond Causes Widespread Panic

The areas of Gosaipur, Chalitakandi, Maynarbond, Latigram, and Rangpur within Udharbond constituency are experiencing severe flooding, creating a state of panic among residents.

Nearly 90% of homes are submerged in floodwaters. Udharbond Circle Officer Rituraj Borgohain and the Officer-in-Charge of Udharbond Police Station are actively conducting rescue operations to assist flood-affected individuals in the relief camps.

Rescue Operations and Temporary Shelters

Reports of some residents being trapped in their homes prompted the Udharbond Circle Officer to call in the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force).

The NDRF is on-site, conducting rescue operations with the assistance of local administration. A temporary relief camp has been set up at Udharbond DN High School to shelter those affected by the floods.

The Udharbond administration is providing necessary support and assistance to the flood victims, ensuring their safety and well-being.
