Shocking incident takes place at Kathigorah: Two men attempt to molest minor on her way back from school, arrested

In a concerning incident that took place in Chandigarh village of Kathigorah situated near the India-Bangladesh of Cachar district, two young men were arrested for attempting to molest a minor girl on her way back from school. The incident has sent shockwaves through the Chandigarh villages, prompting quick police intervention.

The 12-year-old girl, after attending school like any other day, found herself in distress while returning home in the afternoon. Allegedly, two youths from different religious backgrounds took her in an auto-rickshaw and attempted to molest her.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Kathigorah police swiftly acted, reaching the spot and arresting the two youths along with the auto-rickshaw. The minor was rescued, and immediate first aid was provided at Kathigorah Model Hospital.

The victim's father has filed a complaint against the two youths at the Kathigorah police station. According to his statement, the girl had encountered an auto-rickshaw around noon while on her way home from school. When she asked the auto driver about the destination, she was told they were heading to Subodhnagar. However, the auto driver deviated from the intended route, raising suspicion.

As the situation escalated, the auto driver, identified as Shamim Ahmed, and his co-driver, Shamim Uddin, along with the main accused, Saheed Ahmed, were apprehended by the police. The father's prompt action and the community's involvement played a crucial role in thwarting the attempted molestation. The incident underscores the importance of community vigilance and swift law enforcement in ensuring the safety of minors.
