Shocking: Teen couple commits suicide by hanging in Silkuri

On Friday, September 6, a tragic incident unfolded behind Maharishi College in Silkuri, where a teenage couple was found dead by suicide. The victims, 17-year-old Anu Nunia and 18-year-old Ajay Das, were discovered hanging from a tree branch early in the morning.

Anu had gone missing from her home around 10 PM the previous night, and Ajay left his home about 30 minutes later. Both families were aware of their relationship, which has now ended in this heartbreaking manner.

The discovery of their bodies came after a night of frantic searching by the families and local residents. The villagers reported the incident to the Ghungoor police station at 5 AM, but there was a significant delay in the police response.

Despite repeated notifications, the authorities arrived at the scene around 10 AM, and the bodies were subsequently transported to Silchar Medical College for post-mortem.
