Silchar minor's death: 4 culprits arrested; "death due to drowning" clears out postmortem report, No proper evidence of rape found.

Behind the chaos and protests of Silchar is the minor's dead body which was found in Madhuraghat, Silchar. Which is suspected to be the rape case, also lead to the murder of the girl. But here the story turns out to be something else. The postmortem report of the girl's body clears out the reason for the death is due to drowning. Though the 4 culprits have been arrested, no proper evidence to confirm rape was found in this case. 

She has been identified as a resident of Tapoban Lane in Silchar. According to her father, she was missing since Sunday evening. Yesterday after her body was found floating in the river, locals of Ashram road are alleged Rony Das was behind the abduction and murder of the minor. Her father accused, "Rony Das along with six others gang-raped the minor child." 

As seen in the viral videos protestors smashed Rony Das' house, burnt his motorcycle, started to pelting stones at security personnel. In anger, they even stopped the general public's motorbikes and started burning them.

According to police sources, the postmortem report found "drowning" as the cause of death. Moreover, according to the report, there was no forensic evidence available to establish 'rape' or 'gang-rape'. The forensic report did not find any sign of intoxication or substance abuse either. "We are waiting for the forensic reports. So far, we have arrested four individuals related to the case and the matter is under investigation. The reports we have received so far suggest that it was death due to drowning. The reports and evidence suggest there was no sign of rape, however, we are waiting for more reports,"  said Ramandeep Kaur, Superintendent of Police, Cachar.

Section 144 has been clamped by Silchar DC Keerthi Jalli to control the crowd and to stop any more chaos in the town.
